I Left My Heart in Honduras

Jer, Evan and I had the awesome privilege of taking a mission trip to Honduras the week after Christmas.  This was such an amazing time, and God really worked in our hearts and lives while we were there.

We were at a girl's home in the mountains of western Honduras.  The country is just beautiful and the scenery breathtaking.  The girls at the farm were wonderful, and we really fell in love with them.

As I sat down to write this post, I wondered, how do you describe a moment that has changed you forever?  Like the moment you fell in love or the first time you laid eyes on your newborn child, you knew your life would never be the same.  And yet you can't find the words to adequately describe how you feel, how it has changed you.  That's the way I feel about our trip to Honduras.

As our plane was taking off to come back home, I knew my heart was staying behind.  I knew that I had to go back to that place.  When we came home, Jer and I spent several days weeping, mourning, longing for the girls at the home.

We are already planning our next trip.  We will be staying in Honduras for 2-3 months.  We will be leaving sometime later this year.  Please pray with us and for us as we try to do what we know God is calling us to do.

Wow, Linda! I had no idea--we serve an awesome God! What an exciting "turn of events". I'll be praying for Him to continue leading ya'll in the direction he wants you to go. Can't wait to hear more! :)
